GROUND RULES

We don't agree about everything and that's OK. What we do agree on is the need to carry on the discussion in a civil way.

Before you contribute to a discussion, familiarize yourself with logical fallacies. Ad hominem attacks will not be tolerated.

The goal here is for civil conversation so be nice; no profanity. Anyone who calls another person an idiot will be banned.

Lastly remember, when someone disagrees with your views it does not mean they like you less as a person. If you can't handle being disagreed with then go away.

Just Say No ... to being smart.

Rick Santorum: Left uses college for "indoctrination"

"If they taught Judeo-Christian principles in those colleges and universities, they would be stripped of every dollar. If they teach radical secular ideology, they get all the government support that they can possibly give them. Because you know 62 percent of children who enter college with a faith conviction leave without it."

If they would just stay away from those pesky critical thinking courses, the world would be a much more religious (and presumably) better place. Just ask the guys from the crusades. That was a great time to be alive!

Gay Marriage

From my perspective, opposing gay marriage is the fundamental Republican Party line.  I realize Republicans stand for smaller government, but Newt seems to suggest otherwise ... in other words "Act like my Bible says you should, and then I'll leave you alone."  Because if your homosexual, you're clearly a pagan. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/26/newt-gingrich-gay-marriage-_n_1234955.html

Puleeze

Rep. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) addressed a crowd gathered Monday at a South Carolina Tea Party conference and resolutely concluded that "the greatest minority under assault today are Christians. No doubt about it."

THIS is what persecution looks like!
I'm sorry, now disagreeing with Christians is assaulting them? Are they being denied their basic civil rights of free speech, free assembly or freedom to practice their religion? Nope.

How are they under assault? Disagreeing with Christians publicly is not assaulting them or persecuting them. Maybe they feel insulted, but they are in no danger of bodily harm.

PULEEZE Christians, you're the vast majority of people in the United States. I'm so sorry we don't all agree with everything you say, but please don't mistake that for persecution.
